Lisa grew up in upstate New York and moved to the Philadelphia area in 1998 to attend Bryn Mawr College. She graduated from Bryn Mawr in 2002 with a double major in French and political science, then moved to Washington, DC to attend law school at Georgetown University Law Center. Lisa received her J.D. in 2005 and now works as an attorney in the litigation department of a Philadelphia law firm.

Prakash was born in Philadelphia and grew up there and in various surrounding suburbs. He attended college at Lehigh University and graduated in 2003 with a degree in psychology. After a year at Widener University School of Law, Prakash decided that he wanted to pursue a different career path. He worked in the internet division at Comcast Cable and is now working at American Health Care, Inc., a medical equipment firm in Philadelphia. He is also contemplating whether to go to graduate school.

We met in 2000 during Prakash's freshman year and Lisa's sophomore year in college. After three years of dating, Prakash proposed during a trip to New York City in April 2003. Lisa happily said yes, and we were married in Philadelphia a little over two years later on August 6, 2005. We closed on our first house on September 29, 2006 and moved in with our two kitties, Denby and Peja, shortly thereafter. Our wonderful daughter, Nora Sarojini Vasudevan, was born on February 4, 2007.
